Goods valued less than $1000AUD are generally duty and tax free however from July 2018 the GST may be collected by overseas vendors of such low value goods when imported from overseas by consumers in Australia. The GST will be charged at the point of sale and not at the Australian border.
For goods valued over $1000AUD you will need to appoint a customs broker to lodge an import declaration with a copy of your commercial invoice and proof of payment for the purchase of the goods in order to clear the goods, and then pay the duty and taxes calculated by the customs broker on entry.
